What an incredible celebration of Cycling and Para-Cycling we have been privileged to see here in Scotland over the past 2 weeks. Athletes and Para Athletes have taken to our streets, our forests, and our venues and totally blown us away with their strength , endurance and skill.

DCDS and the Dundee Dragons Wheelchair Sports Club were selected to support the UCI Programme at the event held in Dundee over the 6th and 7th of August.

This was the Amateur “Gran Fondo” [Big Race] where over 600 amateur cyclists from all over the world came to Dundee to have the chance to be Amateur World Champion and wear the Rainbow Jersey.

Our role at the event was to showcase Adaptive Cycling, and the DDWSC brought their fleet of bikesĀ  including the latest 3 arrivals courtesy of Baillie Gifford. DCDS had designed and set out a 400m track within the Telkes building at the MSIP [Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc].

Busiest day was Monday 7th – the day of the race and the race and the scorchio weather brought Dundee out to see and support these amateur riders try for glory.
