SDS is accepting entries (Link to ENTRY FORM) and please find information below and attached regarding the 2023 National Junior Athletics event in partnership with scottishathletics to be held at Grangemouth Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 7 June, 2023.
SDS in partnership with scottish athletics are piloting a new SUPERteams format for this year’s event. A document explaining the rationale and format is attached to this email. Essentially there are two options for entrants.
- SUPERteams Event – all athletes do 3 events (a run, a jump and a throw) depending on their category. Participants undertake these events on rotation and participate as a team with every athlete scoring points. Medals will still be awarded for the top 3 in each category. It also includes a Team competition where every athlete wins points for their branch area.
- Championships – experienced athletes and club athletes can still select 3 events to undertake throughout the competition in selected events. However, we would anticipate most of the entrants would participate in the SUPERteams event.

- SDS encourages all entries to be discussed with your local disability sport branch or SDS Regional Manager where no local branch exists

- Softball Event: as a guide the softball event is only eligible to those who throw a softball under 25m.
- Please ensure you use the correct format when entering the times or distances on the entry form. Times: mm:ss.00 (e.g. 01:30.43) – Distances: MM.CmCm (12.50). Please don’t add any units e.g. M or secs etc.
